What is a fantasy football card battler?

Traditional fantasy football usually ends when the gameweek score is calculated. In FML, that score becomes progression for a collectible monster. Your Fantasy XI matters because its real-player performances build the cards you later use across the rest of the game.

This creates one connected club rather than separate fantasy and card-game accounts. Packs expand the collection, fantasy points improve it, and Battle gives those improvements another place to matter.

Before the deadline, choose one goalkeeper and ten outfield monsters in a legal formation. Each monster is connected to a real footballer. Goals, assists, saves, clean sheets and other scored actions determine the monster's gameweek result.

Rarity and evolution can modify the result, while blank performances create risk for highly evolved cards. The aim is not simply to own the rarest cards; it is to build a squad that can perform in the current fixtures.

FML is currently a free beta. New managers receive welcome packs, and the game awards more opportunities through objectives, puzzles, gameweek results, Cup Runs and PvP seasons.

Different rarities, Team of the Week cards and limited editions make collections distinct. The marketplace and puzzle system then give duplicate or unwanted monsters a purpose inside the game economy.

Battle monsters have attack, health, position rules and special powers. Defenders protect the goalkeeper, midfielders unlock forwards, and forwards can attack immediately. Goalkeepers bring their own health totals and powers.

That means a monster can be valuable for more than one reason. A real player may be attractive for the next fixture, while the connected monster may also complete a Battle deck, chemistry plan, puzzle or evolution target.
