How monster levels and evolutions work

Every monster can become more valuable through real football performance. Levels provide steady Battle progression, while Evo chips ask the connected player to complete a specific gameweek challenge.

Fantasy points become persistent progress

A monster keeps its cumulative fantasy points across gameweeks. When it reaches a level threshold, the manager can claim the next level. This separates short-term gameweek results from long-term collection building.

Battle progression is deliberately position-aware. Outfield monsters improve their combat profile, while goalkeeper levels strengthen the value of their goalkeeper power rather than giving every card the same shape of upgrade.

Evo chips are performance challenges

An Evo chip is assigned before a gameweek deadline. Each chip has a target evolution stage, an eligible position and a football requirement such as saves, attacking returns, clean sheets or a points total.

If the real player completes the requirement, the connected monster becomes eligible for the evolution claim. A failed attempt consumes the chip, so the fixture and the player matter as much as the reward.

  • Bronze chips move EVO 0 monsters toward EVO 1.
  • Silver chips cover EVO 1 to EVO 2.
  • Gold chips cover EVO 2 to EVO 3.
  • Purple chips cover EVO 3 to EVO 4.
  • Green ascension chips cover the highest current step.

Evolution changes both Fantasy and Battle

Higher evolutions increase the fantasy multiplier and add premium card frames. In Battle, evolution can add shields, stealth, defender health, outfield stat bonuses or goalkeeper health depending on the monster's position and stage.

The strongest evolution is therefore not merely a cosmetic badge. It represents a longer run of successful football decisions and provides benefits throughout the connected game.

Evolution also carries risk

Evolved monsters are expected to keep performing. Repeated blanks can create a devolution warning and eventually remove an evolution level. The collection screen surfaces that risk before the next failure happens.

This creates a meaningful choice: chase a high multiplier on an elite card, or spread chips and squad places across players with safer upcoming fixtures.

Frequently asked questions

Does an Evo chip evolve a monster immediately?

No. The chip creates a gameweek requirement. The connected real player must complete that requirement before the evolution can be claimed.

Can an evolved monster lose a level?

Yes. Repeated qualifying blanks can eventually de-evolve a monster. The game warns the manager when a monster is one blank away.

Do evolution frames appear throughout the game?

Yes. Evolution frames and effects follow the monster through collection, squad, profile, Vault and Battle displays.
